If it is working properly, you should see one option to stop background loading with at least one other option to play video. Here is a brief overview of the options you may encounter:

TestRTMP - PlayOn accesses content directly via RTMP
WMV test - PlayOn accesses content directly via WMP
PlayDirect _hostname - custom parser for that video site
PlayDirect test - generic; obtains link to video site
PlayDirect (backup) - additional option to grab embedded player
PlayDirect (jsbackup) - video hoster uses javascript to load player, grabs embedded player instead
PlayDirect (nosource) - no source found; very unlikely this will play

If you provide more information on what your trying to play (and I catch it in time), I'll be able to provide more information on that particular host and fix any issues I come across. Every game will have different hosts, and many of them need to be handled in unique ways. As a basic rule, if you visit the site on your computer and are able to view the video, it should work in the plugin as well.

I am hoping to watch some past olympic events that I missed, like the opening ceremony and some swimming. However the folders only contain links to future events. Is it possible to watch archives or past events?

Unfortunately, vipbox seems to focus on live feeds for the most part. The site has an archive section and replays of events are made available on occasion, but neither are quite what your looking for.

this isn't a script issue, but i was curious as to why you don't have a donate button on any of your scripts?

just curious anyhow.

do have one problem now with the script. the NFL hall of fame game is playing a baseball game on the script. website shows the football game fine.

edit: this is problem is only going thru the nfl folder. if you start with the live now folder, links populate just fine.

I made some changes that might help. If you happen to see the issue again, can I have you go back to the first page where you choose the sport and then return to game. Thanks!

When scripts are accessed through PlayOn, it's main function that runs the update code, displays the initial options, etc is not dynamic(ex. VirtualFolder vs. DynamicVirtualFolder). This means during that session, that code will only run once. In this case, restarting PlayOn is only a work-around to get the update code to run again, it's not required for the update to take effect. Library files (that use their own code to update themselves so the current version is known), on the other hand, are already loaded by the script and thus requires a restart of PlayOn to take effect.

Hey there...this looks like a great script, but I'm having all kinds of issues -

first off, will this work playing on an Xbox 360?

every other script is up and running fine - anytime I go into a folder for an event that should be going on now, it has the options of:

[stop background downloading] 1 min

or

PlayDirect (jsbackup or others listed here) 180 minutes


....anytime I select either, I get the error message: unplayable content (not supported)

any thoughts on how I can get this up and running on my 360?

I'll try to allocate some more time to get these problematic hosts handled. Thanks for reporting.
